World Youth Skills Day: M3M Foundation's Kaushal Sambal Initiative Transforms Lives Through Skill Development and Entrepreneurship

Marking World Youth Skills Day, M3M Foundation showcased the transformative impact of its Kaushal Sambal initiative, which has trained over 15,000 young people across seven states. Through skill development, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities, the programme has empowered thousands of youth, strengthened rural livelihoods, and contributed to inclusive and sustainable economic growth across India.

A single opportunity can transform not only an individual's future but also the lives of families and entire communities. Marking World Youth Skills Day, M3M Foundation highlighted the far-reaching impact of its flagship Kaushal Sambal initiative, which has empowered thousands of young people across India with industry-relevant skills, sustainable livelihood opportunities, and entrepreneurial capabilities. Through its iMpower Academy for Skills, the Foundation continues to bridge the gap between aspiration and opportunity by enabling youth to secure employment, establish businesses, and contribute to the country's economic growth.

One of the most compelling examples of this transformation is the journey of Hajrat, who was raised in a modest village with aspirations of pursuing higher education and creating a better future for his family. However, his father's deteriorating health and increasing financial responsibilities forced him to set aside those ambitions. Like many young people in rural India, Hajrat possessed determination but lacked access to meaningful opportunities that could change his circumstances.

His life took a decisive turn when M3M Foundation's iMpower Academy for Skills, operating under the Kaushal Sambal initiative, reached his village. Encouraged to enroll in the Two-Wheeler Service Technician course, Hajrat entered a learning environment that equipped him with practical technical expertise while also providing digital literacy, workplace discipline, communication skills, entrepreneurial exposure, and the confidence required to build an independent future.

After successfully completing the programme, Hajrat had the opportunity to accept employment but instead chose to establish his own enterprise. With continued support from M3M Foundation, he launched iGarage, an automobile workshop that now generates nearly Rs. 50,000 in monthly income. The business has enabled him to provide financial stability for his family while expanding his livelihood through the purchase of a vehicle attached to a taxi service, creating an additional source of income and generating employment for another individual.

Beyond his personal success, Hajrat has extended the impact of his journey by training 12 young people, equipping them with professional skills that have enabled them to establish independent careers and secure brighter futures. His story represents the wider mission of Kaushal Sambal, where beneficiaries become contributors to their communities by creating new opportunities for others.

According to M3M Foundation, Hajrat's experience reflects the transformation taking place across villages and underserved communities through Kaushal Sambal. Guided by the vision of Dr. Payal Kanodia, Chairperson and Trustee of M3M Foundation, the initiative is designed to bridge the divide between ambition and opportunity by providing industry-oriented skills, entrepreneurship training, and sustainable livelihood support.

Since its launch in 2019, Kaushal Sambal has expanded its presence across seven states, 12 districts, and 19 training centres, reaching more than 1,300 villages. Through a comprehensive approach that combines technical education with digital literacy, life skills, entrepreneurship development, and placement assistance, the programme has trained more than 15,000 young people to meet the demands of an evolving economy.

The initiative's impact extends beyond training numbers. More than 9,000 young professionals have secured employment across sectors including healthcare, hospitality, information technology, construction, retail, logistics, renewable energy, fashion, and manufacturing. With a placement rate of 76 percent and an average monthly income of Rs. 14,585, these professionals collectively generate more than Rs. 160 crore in annual earnings, strengthening household incomes, stimulating local economies, and contributing significantly to India's economic development.

The programme also emphasizes inclusive growth by ensuring that opportunities reach underserved communities. Women account for 56 percent of all trainees, while young people from Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, minority communities, and other disadvantaged sections receive skill development that enables financial independence. In addition to employment generation, more than 2,400 aspiring entrepreneurs have established their own businesses through Kaushal Sambal, creating livelihoods for themselves and employment opportunities for others within their communities.

The Foundation also highlighted the journey of Amanpreet, who lost his father at an early age and witnessed his mother working as a daily wage labourer to support the family. After receiving professional training through the iMpower Academy for Skills, he developed the expertise and confidence required to establish his own beauty business. Today, he earns approximately Rs. 20,000 every month and serves as the primary financial support for his family.

Another example is Deepika, who belonged to a financially constrained farming family and overcame social and economic barriers through Kaushal Sambal's skill development programme. Equipped with digital and professional competencies, she secured employment as a Data Entry Operator in Gurugram with a monthly cost-to-company package of Rs. 16,000. Her success demonstrates how skill development can empower young women to achieve financial independence while transforming the future of their families.

M3M Foundation stated that every statistic associated with the initiative represents a story of resilience, renewed aspirations, and sustainable progress. Every skill acquired reflects a reclaimed dream, while every successful beneficiary contributes to strengthening families, communities, and the nation's development through meaningful economic participation.

On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, M3M Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to empowering India's youth with the skills, confidence, and opportunities required to build sustainable careers and successful enterprises. The Foundation emphasized that every empowered young individual creates a lasting ripple effect that extends beyond personal achievement, contributing to the vision of a stronger, more inclusive, and self-reliant India.

M3M Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the M3M Group and works across education, healthcare, livelihoods, sports, and environmental sustainability. With a presence across 22 states and more than 1,300 villages, the Foundation has positively impacted over five million lives through its commitment to inclusive, sustainable, and transformative nation-building.
